Meet Our Team

  Stephen Chard, Manager
Steve grew up in El Dorado County and has 34 years experience in the auto service industry. He owned and operated his own auto parts store for many years and supplied us with our auto parts. Steve was hired to manage our shop because we knew how well he treated customers; we were his customer for over 15 years. Steve really enjoys working with customers and helping them with their automotive needs. Steve and his wife Debbie have three grown children and two grandchildren. Steve enjoys photography, woodworking and riding his motorcycle. Steve is a true friend to our customers.

Lee Burkett, Sr., Operations Manager
Lee has been in this industry for 39 years, starting as a service station attendant in 1966. He has managed several stations and owned his own auto repair business. He managed Folsom 76 prior to transferring recently to El Dorado Hills 76. Lee has extensive automotive training and has held various professional licenses including ASE Certified Master Technician. Lee takes pride in providing professional service and solving automotive problems for people. Lee and wife, Sue, have two grown children and one granddaughter, whom they love to spoil. Lee really gets things done for our customers.

Mark Golden, ASE Master Technician
We are really fortunate to have Mark's 25 years of auto repair experience at El Dorado Hills 76. Mark's technical training includes: Advanced Performance/Diagnostic Training, Snap-On DSO/ Scanner Training, Advanced Smog Diagnostic Failures, AAA training, and much more. He is certified in all areas of automotive service and repair, qualifying him as a certified ASE Master Technician. If Mark can't fix it, it probably can't be fixed. His hobbies include building and racing high performance cars and spending time with his wife, Terrie, and boys Richard and Ryan. Your car is in good hands with Mark.

Matt Farley, ASE Certified Technician
We are especially proud of Matt. He joined us 6 years ago as an assistant technician with only a year's experience. His talent and work ethic were apparent immediately after joining our team. He had attended college as a math major, but wanted to do something more meaningful. Matt went back to school evenings and weekends to learn auto repair while getting hands on experience and help from the other professionals on our staff. Today, Matt is a knowledgeable hard working technician who is never satisfied until the job is done right. He often comes in on his days off to complete jobs so that customers are not kept waiting. His hobbies include Jeep four wheeling and collecting guns. Matt's intelligence and hard work make him a top-notch mechanic and employee.

Richard Smith, ASE Certified Technician
Richard brings 25 years of auto service experience to the job. He has ASE certifications in most areas of auto repair. Like our other techs, Richard is a true team player, helping others whenever he can. Richard sees broken or poorly running cars as a challenge. His satisfaction comes from “seeing them come in broken and going out fixed”. Richard likes his job so well and loves his wife so much that he recommended Charlotte for a cashier's job; so now they both work at El Dorado Hills 76. Richard's hobbies include guns, motorcycles, model building, and spending time with family and friends. When Richard works on your vehicle you know it's going to be done right.

Lee Burkett, Jr., ASE Certified Technician
Yes, this Lee is the son of our operations manager. And, we are glad to have him with his Dad to serve our customers. Six years ago Lee started out as an assistant. Over the years Lee took a number of weekend and evening classes at ARC and Car Quest and attended Good Year's training. He then completed accelerated Smog Technician Training to earn his Enhanced California State Smog License. Lee is another fine example of the intelligence and training required today to be a professional auto technician. Mechanical ability and a box of tools are no longer enough. Lee enjoys sports, music, guns, and hanging out with friends.
Lee thinks of the customer, not just the car, when he services vehicles.

Erik Hodgson, Trained Service Advisor
Erik came to us with several years of tire store experience. He first worked in our shop doing alignments, brake jobs, oil changes, and tire work. But, we noticed that he also had a talent for explaining things to customers and he enjoyed customer contact. So, we sent him to San Diego to attend advanced customer service training. Erik returned even more enthusiastic about helping customers. Erik communicates well, understands mechanics and likes people. He's a real asset at the customer service desk. Erik enjoys spending time with his kids and likes video games. Erik is a problem solver too, just the kind of person you want when you have a car problem.
